Yim has been a professor in the Food and Nutrition Department at Suwon University since 1992.
She received her bachelor’s degree in 1980 from the Food and Nutrition Department of Seoul National University. She went on to obtain a master’s and a doctorate from the same school.
Yim will continue in his current role as a professor during his three-year tenure at the Korea Food Promotion Institute.
âWe will make efforts to systematically conduct Korean food trade under the Food Industry Promotion Act,â Lim said in her inaugural address, adding that she was eager to revitalize Korean food, with special interest in traditional spirits and kimchi.
Established in March 2010 as a public institution under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Korea Food Promotion Institute works for the development of Korean industries related to food. food such as agriculture, catering and tourism.
Yim replaces Seonjae, a Buddhist monk and chef who was inaugurated in April 2018.
