Raps unveils liquid seasonings for meat, vegetable and noodle dishes

October 20, 2021 — Germany-based spice expert Raps taps the demand for Far Eastern flavors with their launch of liquid seasonings. Designed to provide “an ideal base for creative cooked dishes,” the company says the condiments impress with authentic spices from Japanese and Korean cuisines and fresh, intense flavor profiles.

Seasonings can be used to spice up fish, meat, vegetable and noodle soup dishes and stews without the need for additional flavoring.

Trend of Asian food concepts
According to Raps, traditional Asian food stalls have been an integral part of food culture in Germany for some time.

Dishes such as ramen, the typical Japanese noodle soup, are particularly fashionable among younger generations.

That’s why Raps’ culinary excellence team has developed a product line that provides a liquid base for new flavor combinations, the company says.

Liquid seasonings are also suitable for the European interpretation of classics from the Far East, made with authentic ingredients of the highest quality.

Liquid seasonings are also suitable for the European interpretation of Far Eastern classics. The taste of Japanese ramen is provided by “Chicken Ramen” and “Beef Ramen” seasonings, refined with soy sauce, ginger and fish sauce.

Three of the five new products are vegan and can be labeled accordingly. The flavor of “Teri Tori” is a fusion of teriyaki and yakitori spices, and is popular in Japan for seasoning meat, vegetable and fish dishes.

“Bulgogi” is a classic of Korean cuisine also known as “fiery meat”. The slightly fiery flavor is based on concentrated apple juice, miso paste and chili. “Shichimi Togarashi” seasoning evokes a fruity-sweet orange taste combined with flavors of ginger and chili.

Well thought-out product design
Each liquid seasoning comes in a squeezable 1.2kg bottle to allow precise dosing and ultimate convenience, explains Raps.

Liquid seasonings also have a long shelf life and do not need to be refrigerated, making them easy to store.

They were developed for professional use in restaurants, canteens, food trucks and hot buffets but are also available from retailers for home use.

Flavors specific to the region attract attention
In similar advances in space, ‘flaming hot’ foods and spice innovation continue to accelerate as consumers seek new taste experiences.

Last month, Olam Food Ingredients unveiled their latest line of spice blends – Mixtures of the Americas. The 17 ready-to-use dry mixes offer food manufacturers, catering businesses and retailers a simple, clean solution to creating consistent, authentic flavors inspired by some of the continent’s popular cuisines – those of modern Mexico, Caribbean and Southwestern United States.

In May, US company Wixon highlighted the increased demand for comfort food with a Mexican twist. According to the company, Mexican flavors and dishes are “incredibly popular with American consumers,” and that geographic reach is expanding.
