Peace of mind for customers of the Taiwanese restaurant chain

Signify is installing its Philips UV-C lighting disinfection solutions in 80 restaurants run by TTFB, the largest Asian cuisine restaurant chain in Taiwan. Restaurants have been among the hardest hit industries during the COVID-19 pandemic. When lockdown regulations were lifted in August 2021, TTFB began rolling out its advanced disinfection strategy across 80 of its restaurant chains, including Thai Town Cuisine, Very Thai Restaurant and Shann Rice Bar.
Philips UV-C disinfection luminaires offer a well-established method of disinfection, UV-C light, used to disinfect air, water and surfaces against pathogens. By deploying UV-C solutions in all of its restaurants, TTFB is providing customers with a dining environment that makes them feel safer from the moment they walk through the door. Customers can remove their face masks in shared dining spaces knowing there is an added layer of protection against exposure to bacteria and viruses.

The dual disinfection approach takes restaurant cleaning to a whole new level

Working with Signify, TTFB designed a UV-C disinfection plan that covered all interior areas, from the main entrance to the dining room to the kitchen. TTFB has installed Philips UV-C air disinfection units on the floor near the reception area where diners first enter the restaurant. The generous airflow and UV-C light will help effectively inactivate bacteria and viruses in the air brought into the restaurant from outside.

TTFB has installed Philips UV-C Superior Air Sanitizer fixtures in dining areas, where people remove their face masks to eat. Philips solutions continuously sanitize the upper air of an indoor space, and the sanitized upper air is circulated to the dining room by natural air convection, allowing consumers to feel safer knowing that there is an extra layer of protection for them, while enjoying their meal.

TTFB has also installed Philips UV-C disinfection fixtures in the kitchen for surface disinfection of cooking areas and workstations, which are programmed to turn on once the restaurant is closed and employees have returned. at their home. Protective controls featured on the fixtures utilize sensor monitoring, which automatically shuts off UV-C disinfection if a person or animal is detected within range of the sensor, preventing potentially harmful exposure to UV-C light.

At TTFB, we are constantly improving our “safer restaurant” strategy to further protect our employees and customers during the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that the cooperation with Signify not only increases the comfort level of our customers in our restaurants, but also offers a future-proof solution for the industry that allows us to take a significant step forward,” said Doris Hsu, Senior Service Department Manager of TTFB.

UV-C light

UV-C light is a well-established disinfection method used to disinfect air, water and surfaces from pathogens. UV-C light breaks down the DNA or RNA of microorganisms, including viruses and bacteria, rendering them harmless3. Test results show that UV-C disinfection top air fixtures inactivated 99.99% of SARS-COV-2 in room air within 10 minutes1. UV-C Disinfection Upper Air Fixtures continuously disinfect the air in upper areas of a room when people are present below2.

Signify has been at the forefront of UV technology for over 35 years and has a proven track record in developing innovative UV-C disinfection solutions. Signify UV-C lighting is designed in accordance with applicable standards and regulations and must be installed and used in accordance with product-specific safety instructions; being manufactured in controlled industrial processes.
