CP Foods reaffirms its commitment to a sustainable corn supply

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CP Foods) maintains its policy of purchasing only 100% traceable corn from sustainable sources that is not damaged in forest areas or burned for subsequent planting activities.

Rewat Hathaisattayapong, executive vice president of CP Foods, revealed that the company’s animal feed production has a strict sourcing policy with the motto “No Mountain, No Burn, We Buy.” With this principle, the company only buys corn from corn growers who can identify planting areas with 100% legal land titles. “CP Foods feed mills are more than ready to buy sustainably sourced corn and have passed the company’s traceability standard at a great price,” he said.

During the harvest season, CP Foods and Bangkok Produce PCL (BKP), the raw material supply arm of CP Foods, have opened corn buying points near the plantation fields to make farming more convenient. , reduce transport costs and guarantee a fair price.

In addition, as part of the “Self-Employed Farmers, Sustainable Maize” project, which has been running for more than six years, CP Foods and BKP continue to support sustainable maize producers by helping them improve their production efficiency and introduce modern technologies that can reduce production costs and the use of chemicals in agricultural processes. In addition, there are company staff in the area to give advice on planting without burning.
