The restaurants, cafes, pubs and takeaways in the Black Country and Shropshire have been named among the best in the West Midlands – and England. More than a dozen restaurants in the area have been nominated in various categories at the Food Awards England 2022.
The Food Awards England 2022 are back for another year to celebrate the best in the food industry – from excellent restaurants, chefs and waiters to specialists and suppliers. Whether it’s the places you’ve eaten and dined at hundreds of times, or the new establishments that have just entered the industry.
A total of 17 restaurants in Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, Sandwell and Shropshire have been nominated in different award categories – from takeaways of the year and best fish and chips, to street food and desserts.

It includes the Turquoise Kitchen & Bar in West Bromwich which is in the Restaurant of the Year category and The Mount Hotel in Wolverhampton, finalist in the Hotel Restaurant of the Year. Cafe Casita Ristorante Italiano in Dudley and Veggie Fellas in Walsall are also nominated in different categories.

The Food Awards 2022 will take place at a black tie ceremony in Manchester in June. The event will host the best food professionals in the country who offer delicious dishes, the freshest products and rich menus.
It will also feature food suppliers, servers and makers who take our taste buds around the world from the comfort of England. A spokesperson for Food Awards England said: “England offers a wide range of venues that serve cuisines from around the world.
“The finalists were voted for by the public for providing authentic recipes and unique dishes to their diners, creating memorable experiences for residents and visitors. Without a doubt, there are incredible specialists across the country, who know offer excellent service, delicious cuisine and meet the expectations of their guests.
“These are the professionals we aim to recognize at the Food Awards England 2022. We wish all the finalists the best of luck and look forward to welcoming all of our guests and celebrating the winners with them.”
